From hacked social media accounts to full bank accounts, Laremy Tunsil has experienced the entire emotional spectrum of being an NFL player on and off the field.
From five-star recruit to first-round pick to four-time Pro Bowler, the football journey for Houston Texans offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil has been an envious one. But things haven’t been all peaches and cream for the Louisiana native.
Many remember Tunsil for when he went viral during the 2016 NFL Draft after his social media account got hacked, posting a video of the Ole Miss product seemingly smoking marijuana out of a gas mask bong (which later became an NFT). This unfairly resulted in numerous teams taking Tunsil off their draft boards entirely, allowing the Miami Dolphins to select him with the No. 13 pick.
How did Tunsil respond? Oh, only by stepping in right away to be named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2016, making a few Pro Bowl rosters, and securing the bag through a three-year, $75 million extension he signed to stay with the Texans in March 2023 (Tunsil was traded to Houston in August 2019).
The Houston Texans are set to travel to Indianapolis with their playoff hopes on the line in a Week 18 matchup against the Colts. Before that, Tunsil sat down with Chase B for the third episode of Boardroom’s AUX MONEY to talk about everything from the offensive tackle’s new contract, why he’s the NFL‘s best-dressed big man, his love for Sade and Erykah Badu, wanting to be a music executive and much, much more.
