Stephen Curry Inks a ‘Lifetime Deal’ with Under Armour

Stephen Curry and Under Armour are committed to building something big. The four-time NBA champion inked a long-term deal with the Baltimore brand that will extend beyond his playing years. Stephen’s made an imprint at Under Armour since signing with the company in 2013. In the last decade, he’s started Curry Brand, through which he works with the next generation of talent. While full details of the extension are unknown at this time, Curry increased his equity in the company, according to Nick DePaula, making it potentially one of the biggest endorsement deals of all time.

Lucian Grainge’s Success Leads to UMG Contract Extension

Universal Music Group had a banner year in 2022. The company saw a 22% increase in revenue, driven by streaming and the return of touring. Now, UMG is locking in its leader for the long-term. Lucian Grainge inked an extension through April 2028. As part of the newly negotiated package, Grange’s annual salary will dip as he receives an increased share of stock and equity. Perhaps the most shocking figure of the new deal is a $100 million “transition award.” In a statement, UMG chairman of the board, Sherry Lansing said, “Through his clear vision and strong execution in building UMG into the industry leader, Lucian has also essentially created a new category of music company. This agreement is designed to drive both the sustainable success of UMG and long-term shareholder value.”

Meanwhile, many major news outlets, including The Washington Post, New York Times, and POLITICO, confirmed that they will refuse to pay for Twitter’s verification badge in the company’s newest monetization efforts.
