The World Series match-up is all set. Bryce Harper blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Phillies over the Padres, 4-3.  Meanwhile, in the Bronx, the Astros’ Yordan Alvarez and Alex Bregman produced when it mattered, bringing Houston a 6-5 victory. With the loss, the Yankees now have their sights set on keeping their superstar, Aaron Judge, on the roster.

Taylor Swift Sets New Spotify Records with ‘Midnights’

The Swifties are reveling in the newest album from Taylor Swift. After Friday’s release, Midnights vaulted to a new single-day streaming record on Spotify. Additionally, she became the single highest streaming artist in a day. While official numbers are not yet out, Midnights is expected to be on track to take over the No. 1 spot on this week’s Billboard 200.

Palace Skateboards Rolls out New Collection with Gucci

Skateboard streetwear, but make it high fashion. The newest Palace Skateboards x Gucci collection dropped on the Italian luxury label’s website. The collab combines the signature designs for each, featuring interlocking Gs and the Palace pyramid. The premier piece of the collection is a limited set of 50 Palace Gucci Moto Guzzi, a camouflaged motorcycle with gold detailing and a signature saddle bag, valued at $53,000.

Taylor Heinicke Leads Commanders over the Packers, Lands $125K Incentive

It was a day of ups and downs in the nation’s capital. The Commanders stunned the Packers, winning 23-21. At one point during the battle, the Washington fans were heard chanting “Sell the team!” in response to the most recent report of owner Dan Snyder’s bad behavior. However, Taylor Heinicke’s consistency paid off after the QB logged more than 60% of the snaps during the win, fetching a $125,000 bonus, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

PGA Tour Files New Petition to Lean into Legal Battle with LIV Golf

The Southern District of New York continues to see some of the nation’s biggest cases. Now, the PGA Tour has filed a “petition for discovery” for the backers of the LIV golf league, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. According to a report from ESPN, the motivation for the motion is to depose Yasir Othman Al-Rumayyan, who serves as governor of the fund. The move is the most recent in an extended series of legal measures in the battle between LIV and the PGA.

The Rock’s ‘Black Adam’ Brings in $67M in Opening Weekend

The comic book formula continues to net blockbuster success. The most recent in a long line of Ws? Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Despite mediocre reviews, the film posted $67 million in ticket sales in its first weekend. As a result, it is only the second film to bring in over $50 million on opening weekend this year. Thor: Love and Thunder is the only other film to hit that benchmark in 2022. According to CNBC, it is also The Rock’s highest debut weekend on record.
