The prolific First Take co-host is back starting April 12 for a series of live presentations for the NBA postseason — welcome back to Stephen A’s World.

Stephen A. Smith will continue his run of alternative broadcasts during the NBA playoffs, beginning Wednesday on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. eastern with two elimination contests in the play-in tournament as the Chicago Bulls take on the Toronto Raptors and the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the New Orleans Pelicans.

A joint production of ESPN, Smith’s Mr. SAS Productions, and Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions, NBA in Stephen A’s World brings the ubiquitous First Take co-host and NBA Countdown analyst’s opinions, stylings, and musings five times this postseason, including Game 1 of the NBA Finals on June 1. Telecasts will be shown on ESPN2 and the ESPN app, with most appearing on ESPN+.

  • April 12, 7 p.m. ET: Play-in Tournament
  • April 15, 1 pm. ET: First Round, Game 1
  • May 5, 10 p.m. ET: Second Round, Game 3
  • May 16, 9 p.m. ET: Western Conference Finals Game 1
  • June 1, 9 p.m. ET: NBA Finals Game 1

NBA in Stephen A’s World has proven to be must-see TV, like always when it involves Stephen,” David Roberts, ESPN’s Head of NBA and Studio Production, said of the news. “When you watch Stephen take in an NBA game in a living room-like setting, his deep passion for the sport is evident. We’re looking forward to a fun, five-episode run during what is expected to be an exciting, unpredictable NBA Playoffs.”

NBA in Stephen A’s World launched this season on Oct. 26 with coverage from the premiere of the Marvel Studios blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There were several other episodes throughout the season, including the New York KnicksPhiladelphia 76ers game on Christmas Day which featured a star-studded guest list including Spike Lee, Morris Chestnut, Fat Joe, Roy Wood Jr., Lil Rel Howery, Boban Marjanovic, and Kendrick Perkins as “Santa Perk.”

The playoff editions of Smith’s show promise a rotating cast of ESPN NBA analysts, live polls, social media interaction, and viewer participation.

Boardroom can exclusively unveil an all-star cast including Spike Lee, Fat Joe, and “Santa Perk” for a special Knicks-Sixers alternate broadcast on ESPN2 and streaming on ESPN+.

For fans who need their fix of Stephen A. Smith on Christmas Day, ESPN2 and ESPN+ will show a special NBA in Stephen A’s World alternative broadcast at 12 p.m. ET as the New York Knicks host the Philadelphia 76ers.

As the traditional Christmas NBA quintuple-header tips off on ESPN and ABC, with all games being shown on broadcast TV for the first time, Stephen A. will bring a strong guest list to the table including Spike Lee, Morris Chestnut, Fat Joe, Roy Wood Jr., Lil Rel Howery, Boban Marjanovic, and Kendrick Perkins as “Santa Perk.”

This eclectic mix of movies, TV, comedy, and Boban will liven up your lunch, brunch, or breakfast table as Smith chops it up on his beloved Knickerbockers and Joel Embiid, James Harden, and the star-studded Sixers.

NBA in Stephen A’s World is an offshoot of the Stephen A’s World show on ESPN+ on which the First Take star and personality extraordinaire takes on the biggest topics inside and outside the sports world with numerous high-profile guests. The NBA alt-cast has had three episodes to date and is a collaboration between ESPN and Omaha Productions, and co-executive produced by ESPN, Smith’s Mr. SAS Productions, and Peyton Manning himself.

ESPN’s extended its “ManningCast” concept executed so successfully by Peyton and Eli to the NBA with Smith, Michael Kay and Alex Rodriguez for Major League Baseball, and Pat McAfee for college football. Djokovic-backed Winners Alliance Prepares to Launch with $26M Raise

Novak Djokovic may be out at this year’s U.S. Open, but the tennis superstar is making major moves off the court. In partnership with hedge fund icon Bill Ackman, Djokovic closed a $26 million fundraising round to help launch his newest endeavor Winners Alliance. Audi Races Into Formula 1 in Time for 2026 Season

After months of speculation, Audi officially announced that it is making the move into Formula 1. Beginning in 2026, the German automaker will join the F1 circuit. Audi’s entry aligns with the sport’s move towards more sustainable practices, and in an official statement the chairman of the board Markus Duesmann said, “Formula 1 is both a global stage for our brand and a highly challenging development laboratory….With the new rules, now is the right time for us to get involved.”

Stephen A. Smith to Show His Range with New Podcast

Stephen A. Smith is stepping away from the hot takes – at least part-time. The outspoken ESPN talking head is kicking off a new venture with the podcast Know Mercy with Stephen A. Smith in partnership with Cadence13. The show will mark a new chapter for Smith, as it will sidestep sports and cover a wide range of topics including politics, business, entertainment, social issues, and criminal justice. Beginning on Sept. 26, the show will release three episodes each week.

The Brooklyn Nets are set to return to 1972 for next season’s Classic Edition jersey. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and crew will rock the stars and stripes jersey made famous during the ABA era by Julius Erving. The iconic jersey cemented its place in basketball history, even scoring the cover of NBA Street Vol. 2 in 2003. Brooklyn previously revived the classic white design during the 2005-06 season while using the blue away version of the jersey in 2011-12.
