T-Mobile Acquires Ryan Reynolds’ Mint Mobile for $1.35B

T-Mobile announced that it acquired Mint Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator, where actor and entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds is a lead investor. The purchase is reportedly worth $1.35 billion, and while it’s unclear how much Reynolds’ stake is worth — Variety wrote that it could be as much as 25%. In the transition, Reynolds will remain in his creative role on behalf of the company.

Aaron Rodgers Fuels Jets Signing Chatter with ‘Pat McAfee’ Appearance

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, 10-time Pro Bowl QB Aaron Rodgers addressed his future, saying, “I made it clear my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets.” Rodgers added that “it’s been the compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me” that’s holding up a deal. Rodgers, who’s playing on a three-year, $150 million extension, might be held up a little longer — his $58.3 million option bonus can be exercised at any point between now and Sept. 1. Over 500,000 people tuned in for the conversation, in which Rodgers also revealed he was about 90 percent sure he would retire going into his silent retreat.

Big 12 Unveils First-Ever Pro Day

The Big 12 and NFL announced a partnership Wednesday to launch a new Big 12 Pro Day in 2024, marking the first time the conference has assembled a Pro Day for its schools. The action kicks off next year at the Ford Center at “The Star,” the official campus of the Dallas Cowboys in Frisco, Texas. NFL Network will televise the event, which will feature measurables and medical assessments, popular skills, benchmarks (i.e. 40-yard dash), bench press, and vertical jump.

Kevin Hart Gets Into the Radio Biz with SiriusXM

Kevin Hart’s latest gig takes him off the screen and puts him in your ears. The funny man announced a new collaboration with SiriusXM radio. On Wednesday, the company unveiled a multiyear deal with the comedy star and his Laugh Out Loud network. As part of the deal, Hart will host a number of shows on his channel (L.O.L.) with featured guests like Jason BatemanNeil BurgerRyan CooglerDaymond JohnMethod ManStephen A. Smith and Lena Waithe. “SiriusXM has been a valued relationship of mine and Hartbeat’s for some time and the fact that we were able to launch [the comedy show] Gold Minds and now expand the program to include the brightest, boldest, and most impactful voices of our time blows my mind,” Hart said in a statement.

Pharrell Williams’ Something In The Water music festival is heading home to Virginia Beach on April 28-30. And now the lineup has been announced — and it has no shortage of star power and range. The lineup includes famed rap/hip-hop artists such as Kid Cudi, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, Clipse, Wu-Tang Clan, Wale and so many more. This year’s lineup spans a wide range of genres from house (Skrillex) to soul (Grace Jones and Chic).

Prime Video Announces Release Date for J.R. Smith Docuseries

J.R. Smith is mostly known for his NBA playing days. However, his love for golf and desire for a college education brought him back to school. Prime Video announced an April 4 release date for his four-part UNINTERRUPTED docuseries Redefined. The flick will follow Smith as he pursues an education and new athletic passion at North Carolina A&T.
